Thinking she was going to be interviewing a recent college grad, Max, who “once voted for Obama” gretch was expecting a nice, pleasant bash session. INstead she got this:
G: the youth unemployment rate s 15.7$… leaving college grads living at home with mom and dad - so will that swing voters? Max Rice, a recent college grad - he voted for Obama
Max: S’up
G: Now hes unemployed!and lives at home. good morning to you max!
Max: Hello Miss USA, its an honor!
G: um, Miss America!
Max: Miss America! miss Universe in my book, my book!
G: Oh OK! well now tell me your story - you believed in the hope and change of President Obama, now tell me about
Max (drinking coffee, eyes at half mast): Oh i was a HUGE Obama supporter in 2008! i met him when i was little!
G: Okay, are you supporting Mitt Romney?
M: Whats your question?
G: Right now are you supporting Mitt Romney?
M: Why am I supporting Mitt Romney? It’s actually a funny story - I lost. A basketball game to a friend of mine - Alex Stern. He’s a huge supporter of this show.
G: Ok well it sounds like you’re not being very serious about this…
M: Im also not supportive of the direction Obama has taken this country!
G: in what way?
M: But yeah - I’ll be casting my ballot for Mitt Romney!
G: ok… is it true you had to go back and live with your parents after graduation?
M: Oh yeah, after I went to college for a bit I had to go live with my parents this summer and now back on my own, independent! on national TV! Independent! Its an honor!
G: ok. well are you being serious right now?
M:Yeah!
Ok well…
M: I cant see your face right now, this is so weird!
G: Ok well actually, we’re gonna wrap this up right now because Im not so sure you’re being serious..
M: We are? waywaywaywait! Why not?
G: Im not sure that you’re ready for primetime yet
M: Gretchen? Can you hear me? wait, I mean..
(Max gets cut off)
G: all right! we’re gonna give Max another shot when he’s ready to do the interivew!
