Bono showed up
No really… He and his wife and entourage were at the festival outside Timbuktu for 3 days…. Have pics on my other camera and video of him on stage screaming “Viva!!!!’n viva la vivaaaa!” while all the Malians looked very confused despite his flashes peace signs and rocking back n forth … Mildly hilarious… That and he was introduced by some American woman...

The tanks are rolling in on Timbuktu
Fetsival time and the Mali government has decided to make a big show of force… Streets now full of tanks and military… Very impressive… If they all weren’t carrying 30 year old Kalashnikovs. Heh.
